Our child to teacher ratio is no more than 8:1, which makes
In The Beginning a preschool with your child's needs at heart.

We believe that family involvement is a key part of our children's success.  We encourage this by sending home family activities that reinforce the content/unit that is being covered. Preschoolers love the thought of "homework."  These activities may include worksheets, interactive websites, games, or crafts.  Have fun doing these activities as a family.

We also welcome any and all volunteers.  Please indicate on your enrollment form names, phone numbers, and availability of people that would like to volunteer.  Per church policy, we require that a criminal records check be completed for all volunteers.

Children must be 3 years old prior to the first day of school.  All children must be toilet trained.  The following forms must be completed and on file prior to the first day of school:

 Registration Form
 Current Immunization Form
 Critical Data Form

To obtain a registration packet, call the church office at
(859) 823-5171.

Your child's safety is very important to us.  Once all children have arrived, all outside doors will be locked.

Authorize someone other than the persons listed on the enrollment forms to pick up your child.  Prior notification must be given to the preschool staff.  If this person is unknown to the preschool staff member, proof of identity will be requested.

ATTENDANCE:
Regular, punctual attendance will help your child be successful in preschool.  Please help your child attend school  regularly except when he or she is ill. Be sure to call us when your child is going to be absent.

DISCIPLINE:
Classroom rules will be reviewed regularly.  Each child will be encouraged to do the right thing and follow classroom rules.  Age appropriate behavior will be enforced positively.  Difficulty with the compliance will result in a "time-out."  A copy of the classroom rules will be distributed to each family, so that these can be reviewed and reinforced at home.  Communication between staff and family regarding your child's behavior is critical for success.
